Fun Fact: The Chinese Elm is also known as the Lacebark Elm.
Commonly known as Chinese elm or lacebark elm. Leaves are simple, alternate, usually doubly serrate, distichous. Leaves are nonpoisonous. This plant produces apetalous wind pollinated perfect flowers in early autumn. It produces a simple dry fruit known as a samara, a type of achene that allows the wind to carry the seed away from the parent plant. As is typical of most elms this tree has hard wood and its lumber can be used in the production of furniture and hard wood flooring.
